Volunteering with Longitude

Longitude connects volunteers to projects in India and Ghana.

About Volunteering

Longitude sees volunteering as a way of connecting cultures around the world. Longitude links volunteers with local community leaders in Ghana and India, giving volunteers the opportunity to experience what life is like in these diverse societies.

We are looking for motivated and passionate volunteers who seek to assist in bringing educational opportunities, health facilities, and resources to those who need them most.

Financing your Volunteer Experience

Longitude strives to eliminate unnecessary travel costs while at the same time providing a safe and enjoyable experience.

  • Longitude volunteers do not pay for Longitude’s overhead expenses.
  • 100% of the money that Longitude volunteers fund raise goes directly to the local project.
  • Volunteers have access to the Longitude website for fundraising, blogging, and documenting their travel before, during, and after their trip. Each volunteer who travels to one of Longitude’s local projects is expected to pay a small organization support fee, which goes directly to the local organization with which the volunteer is working. This is a payment for the time and energy that the local NGO’s must spend when helping the volunteer during their stay.
