Evolution of Educate Ghana

Longitude's connection with PROFESA has allowed the academy to transform and flourish.

Since Longitude began its partnership with PROFESA Academy, the school has evolved dramatically. In 2003, classes were held in a roofless building with a few beaten and worn tables. The typewriters were old and outdated and, despite the fact that there were many students, few graduated due to the school's poor infrastructure.

After Longitude started working with Meshach Bondzie in 2006, the program has increased its enrollment two-fold and has graduated 80% of its students. A new school was built in 2009, with classrooms and, for the first time, an office space for Meshach. A computer lab was constructed, equipped with laptops where training programs in computer networking, website design, and data entry are now taught.

This new setting creates an environment that is far more conducive to learning, allowing the students to truly realize their potential. Longitude has helped PROFESA flower into the program Meshach envisioned, one that gives impoverished young women hope and security.
