Even though it was hot, it ended up being a wonderful day from beginning to end. As the day went on the games got better and better with a few going into extra innings. We'd like to thank all 60 players who participated this year. Congratulations to our tournament champions, team Pelletier & Mirza LLP. They defeated Team New England in a game that ended under the lights. Tom Mirza was named MVP of the final game after leading his team too victory by driving in four runs. All donations from the concession stand, bouncy house and player fees will go towards further strengthening the PROFESA Academy in Ghana. The PROFESA Academy serves young Ghanaians who do not have enough money to attend traditional high school. For them, PROFESA is their only chance to transcend poverty through job and computer training. This tournament raised close to $1,000 for the PROFESA Academy. While in the US, $1,000 does not go very far, in Ghana this will allow the school to purchase a full classroom set of tables and chairs with money left over for much needed textbooks. our world, our children
Shawn,
As a dad to young boys like yourself, I share your passion to do what we can to demonstrate the most important lessons to our children. We can do our small part to make this world a better place and show our children that they also can do their part to pay it forward to those less fortunate.
It was a pleasure to join your cause and we had a great time at your first annual Longitude softball tournament!
Cheers to a better world!
Rick
