For the past few months I have been going over the many differences between Japan and India and wondering how Ravi will react to things like the Japanese trash system and umeboshi (really sour pickled plums). I haven't been able to sleep or eat for the past few days because I am so excited to see him here!
Ravi has shown us such wonderful hospitality in India and Jonathan and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to return the favor here in Japan.
Tomorrow we are hoping to take him to a zazen Buddhist meditation ceremony across the street (my uncle is friends with the monk) and then to Tokyo Lutheran, where he will have an opportunity to give a short speech to the English congregation and join them for coffee hour. For the remainder of the day, we will brief Ravi on the activists and professors whom we have arranged meetings with and prepare for the Osaka and Tokyo speaking seminars we are hosting next weekend.
At the moment we are in dire need of an interpreter next Saturday, July 31 in Osaka and Sunday, August 1st in Tokyo.
We are also keeping the fundraising page up, so any help you can provide would be immensely appreciated!

It was a real pleasure going to Ghana and working with Meshach.
