Longitude Mission and Vision

The Longitude Mission

Longitude connects visionary leaders with the resources they need to affect change in their communities. Working in resource poor countries, Longitude provides volunteers, funding and programmatic support to move each of its partner organizations closer to self-sufficiency.

The Longitude Vision

Over the next five years Longitude will focus its efforts on further developing its relationship with its partner projects in Ghana and India. By supporting the leaders of these two grassroots organizations, Longitude will continue to build these organizations' capacity to generate revenue, manage staff, and grow their own programming.

Our goal over the next ten years is to enable these organizations to increase their efficiency and ability to raise funds independently of Longitude. Longitude's model is to push for gradually increased self-sufficiency, so that by the year 2019 both organizations have the ability to operate independently of Longitude.

Between now and then Longitude will be developing an effective program for empowering the leaders with whom we work. This program will be developed in collaboration with our partner organizations so that the ultimate transition to self-sufficiency is a smooth one.

As growth permits, Longitude will seek out new talented leaders of grassroots international NGO's.
